Baptism: Washing away of our sins

As a Christian, you may know about baptism, baptism is washing away of our sins. But how much is it true? Should we believe that water baptism washes our sins? No, no not at all. Baptism by water does not wash our sins; it may wash some dirt on our head and nothing else. You may have listened to a sermon on baptism in your local church by pastors saying that water baptism will wash your sins.  Remember baptism by Holy Spirit and fire will wash our sins. Only GOD can forgive our sins. If your sins are forgiven by GOD means your sins are washed. It means you are now baptized. Just taking water baptism in church does not guarantee that your sins are forgiven. Beware of false teachers and pastors claiming that water baptism will wash your sins if you have faith.

In the gospel, we come across John the Baptist, the last prophet of Old Testament; he did baptize people with water and asked them to repeat from the sins. But he never gave any assurance that the water baptism will wash away their sins.  He instead said that a person coming after him will give baptism by Holy Spirit. In Matt 3: 11-17, we see when John the Baptist was giving baptism by water, suddenly heaven open and Holy Spirit came upon Jesus. Holy Spirit came upon Jesus means what actually has happened is that GOD came to Jesus; GOD in spirit form came to Jesus the human form of GOD.  The event which occurred at that time shows us the spiritual meaning, that when we are baptized by Holy Spirit, it means God in spirit form will dwell in our body. This is because we human body is the temple of GOD, and GOD has commanded his chosen people to keep temple(Body) as holy because God is coming to dwell in our body as the temple of GOD.

When will GOD come to dwell in our body? GOD will come to dwell in our body when our sins are forgiven and we became a child of GOD.  And when do our sins are forgiven? Our sins are forgiven when we pray to GOD that GOD has mercy on us. It is the will of GOD that our sins are forgiven, when our sins are forgiven we are baptized at that moment! So amazing.

Freedom or Free dove?

I want to be free! I want to do what I want. I need freedom in my life.

I do not want to be judged by others, I am independent, I am grown up and I can take my own decisions. Why should anybody rule over me? I want to be what I want to do and I do not want to be what others want me to be. This is what today’s young generations are thinking about themselves.   They want to be independent in decision making and do not like to get judged if in trouble. Is this what the freedom means? I can do anything in my life without any interference. Yes somewhat it is true, but you should take care that your decision and your actions should not be against Society, Nature, Land of Law and Law of GOD.  Yes, it is true whatever you do; your actions should be in accordance with Society, Nature, Land of Law and Law of GOD. If your actions are against the will of GOD then, you may be in trouble. So does it means if I have freedom so that I can drink, smoke, adultery, lie, cheat? No, you cannot do all those things.

1 Corinthians 6:12 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.

I remember a verse in 1 Peter 2:16 “Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God.”  We human mankind is created in the image of GOD. We are also the temple of GOD; we have to maintain ourselves as a temple of GOD as it is dwelling place of GOD. I am in sin, I am not able to come out of that sin, but I am trying to come out of that sin, but I could not do by my own will. In this case, you do not have freedom, but you are bond with your sin. The sin you like to do every day and repeat it as much as possible. You know it is wrong but you still do it.

You are in bondage of sin; you are in bondage of Satan, who is king and ruler of your life. You are not free but are a slave to your master Satan. You need somebody to help to come out of this situation, only GOD can help and no other man can come to rescue you. Let GOD take control of your life, mention in GALATIANS 5:1 “It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.”

2 Corin 3:17 “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

But being a religious person means is it a boring life?  No, absolutely no, being a religious life means you have no boring life. But you are actually enjoying freedom from sins, sins which in old days you were in bondage and no hope to come out of it. But now when you called our Lord Jesus Christ, he will make you free.

John 8:36 “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed”.

Now you are made free by Jesus Christ from your evil habits, your evil thought, and evil deeds. You are in totally different person now and have come out of the old sins. Now you are enjoying the freedom and much more happiness.  Now you do not feel ashamed of yourself, you are in confidence and you receive a respect from society. You are now living eternal life in Jesus Christ.

Romans 6: 22 “But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.”

You are a free man and also free dove you can fly an of where you want, the sky has no limit.

Romans 8:1-4 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
